There will be 8 Monday evening classes - ending with an audition in front of agents, directors and casting directors.

Topics include:

  • Talking to a pianist
  • The song as a monologue
  • Creating a subtext
  • Entering and leaving the room
  • Singing to a partner
  • Preparing your music
  • The audition wardrobe
  • What songs do I need?
  • Intros and endings
  • What roles can I play?
  • Formatting a resume
  • Taking risks!

Class size is small. Everyone works every week.  All work is on camera. This is a good time to enlarge your repertoire, check out your performance skills, and get up in front of your peers.   Fee for the 8 sessions remains a reasonable $400.

The workshop is held on Monday evenings. Classes start at 7 PM and usually end by 10 PM.

The class is at my studio – located in the middle of Hollywood, CA (near Sunset and Vine)

There is plenty of free parking available.

The eighth class is a REAL audition. Usually held at Screenland Studios or Madelyn Clarke

The guests include: a working casting director, stage director, and an agent.

All your work and critiques are videotaped.  After each class you will receive a link where you can view or download the videos.

Carol

After working as a musical director and audition pianist at thousands of auditions, I discovered that many people sabotage themselves because they don't have an accurate picture of the Los Angeles audition "scene." I created the Musical Theatre Workshop to prepare performers for the reality of today's musical theatre.
